Frederick S. Upton Fellowship in Public History
Eligibility Criteria
Full time student majoring in Public History
According to these history scholarships and grants predilection provided to Ph.D. applicants.
Length of fellowship shall be for a whole of three successive years, not to comprise Summer II session
Receiver will be necessary to use up a minimum of 20 hours for each week performing qualified work (as assigned by the FMHS decision-making director or his/her designee) at the Priscilla U. Byrns Heritage Center of the Fort Miami Heritage Society in St. Joseph, Michigan
Minimum GPA of 3.0

 Kenneth B. West History Scholarships and Grants

 Scholarship Guidelines

  1. These history scholarships and grants are accessible to juniors or seniors who are majoring in History at UM-Flint.
  2. According to these history scholarships and grants candidate should have a least of a 3.0 GPA.
  3. These history scholarships and grants will be applied unswervingly to the recipients' tuition accounts.
  4. The selection committee will be included of no below three History Department faculty members.
  5. The Office of Development will offer the donor a yearly history scholarships and grants accounting report, and an
    recognition letter from the West Scholar.

Richard Gilder American History Scholarships and Grants
These history scholarships and grants are recognized by the Rachor Family Foundation, Ltd., in honor of Wall Street stockbroker, Richard Gilder.  A Yale graduate, he is a beginning member and long-lasting trustee of the Central Park Conservancy. 
Scholarship Guidelines 

  1.  The Richard Gilder history scholarships and grants are proposed for UM-Flint history majors who have finished a least of sixty credit hours.
  2.  Candidates should have a least of a 3.4 grade point average.
  3.  Candidates should have a least 3.5 grade point average in history courses, and should absolute HIS 220, 221 (US survey courses), and have to complete at least three U.S. history courses, with two of them in the three hundred level or above.
  4. Penchant will be provided to students whose assignments point out an importance on American history and whose profession goals comprise following a line of work that concentrates on American history (teaching, archiving, museum work, ect.)
  5. These history scholarships and grants will be applied straight to the recipients' tuition accounts.
  6. The scholarship selection working group will be included of the department chair and the two most senior Americanists. If other Americanists desire to provide, they can do so with the authorization of the department chair.

Colonel T.B.W. Stockton History Scholarships and Grants
North and Florence Stockton, descendents of T.B.W. Stockton, recognized the Colonel T.B.W. Stockton history scholarships and grants for University of Michigan – Flint students majoring in History or graduate students registered in the MLS Program in American Culture.
Scholarship Guidelines:

    • Candidates have to have a 3.0 GPA and have finished as a minimum fifty credit hours, and have a confirmed major in History or be graduate students signed up in the Master of Liberal Studies in American Culture.
    • Economic require is a deliberation in awarding the scholarship.
    • The selection board will be included of the department chair and two ability members from the History Department, and a representative from the MLS Program.
    • Scholarship awards will be applied straight to the student’s tuition account.
